Mark Esguerra

Director, Transmission and Substation Engineering, Southern California Edison

Mark Esguerra has over 28 years of experience in the electric utility industry, with deep expertise spanning distribution and transmission system planning, asset management, generation interconnection, wildfire mitigation and engineering standards. As Director of Transmission and Substation Engineering at Southern California Edison (SCE), he leads a team of more than two hundred engineers and managers responsible for designing, standardizing, and developing critical infrastructure to support California’s energy needs.  


Prior to his current role, Mark spent 25 years at Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E), where we held leadership positions across their electric operations organization.  


Mark earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from San Francisco State University (SFSU) and obtained a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Masagung School of Business at the University of San Francisco (USF). He is also a registered professional Electrical Engineer for the State of California.
