Christene Banda is Chief Operating Officer of Captura, a fast-growing climate technology company. Captura combines innovative technology with the natural carbon removal powers of the ocean to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere at large scale and low-cost, providing a critical capability in the fight against climate change. Christene brings more than 15 years of leadership, engineering and operations experience to Captura and has been responsible for scaling and streamlining the company’s operations to support rapid growth. This includes building an inclusive team, establishing the company’s engineering function to support delivery of pilot and commercial systems, as well as ensuring operational efficiency across departments. As COO, Christene translates the company vision and strategy into execution—building scalable systems, setting KPIs, and driving cross-functional alignment.
