Ricardo da Silva is the VP – Strategic Operations at the New York Power Authority (NYPA). NYPA is investing in a roadmap aimed at transforming the state’s energy infrastructure to a clean, reliable, resilient, and affordable system. Central to these objectives is deployment of intelligent infrastructure and a robust Asset Management System.
Strategic Operations focuses on areas that are front and center regarding Asset Management and the entire process and lifecycle via deployment of sensors, advanced analytics, and new digital ways of working while leveraging key guiding principles including consistent portfolio review and asset performance.
Mr. da Silva has spent over twenty years at NYPA developing and managing major programs relating to generation as well as transmission assets. Prior to his current role, Mr. da Silva served as Project Manager where he managed life extension & modernization programs at hydro and transmission facilities across NY State and the interconnection of renewable generation into NYPA’s system.
Mr. da Silva holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.S. in Computer Engineering in addition to being a Project Management Professional (PMP) and holding a Diploma in Asset Management from the Institute of Asset Management.
