Nelly Jefferson

Nelly joined Avangrid as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in September 2024. In her role, she oversees all Avangrid information technology strategies and associated activities across the company’s entire enterprise including IT applications, infrastructure, and business operations. She is focused on developing solid IT digital and innovation capabilities to deliver smart solutions for all Avangrid customers and employees. 

Nelly came to Avangrid with more than 25 years of experience in information technology with deep knowledge of the energy industry, having previously led technology for RWE Clean Energy and ConEdison. Throughout her career, she has developed IT transformational strategies and associated implementation plans at scale to better serve customers and enhance business value. 

She holds a master’s degree in management information systems from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Montclair State University.
